“EMS units to host community wellness clinic at the CNE on Thursday
Thursday, August 30 is EMS Day at the Canadian National Exhibition. Paramedics and emergency medical dispatchers from Toronto, York, Rama, Durham and Halton Emergency Medical Services, along with Simcoe and Peel Paramedic Services, will host a community wellness clinic on the CNE grounds (at the west corner of the Food Building) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Paramedics will provide blood pressure checks and demonstrate first aid – including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of an automatic external defibrillator. Emergency medical vehicles will be on display and available for tours.
A parade marking EMS Day at the CNE will start at the Princes’ Gates at 6 p.m., ending at the Ricoh Coliseum.
For all 18 days of the fair, Toronto EMS paramedics are on site providing emergency medical care to visitors.
First-aid clinics are located at the Better Living Centre (northwest corner) and Salon 105, Hall A of the Direct Energy Centre.
At EMS Station 35, located on the CNE grounds at 265 Manitoba Dr., Toronto EMS paramedics and the Downsview Medical Venturers are available daily to speak with visitors and hand out stickers and “tattoos” to children.”
