Queen West Planning Study update

This week at Toronto and East York Community Council, Councillor Perks along with Councillor Bailao and Councillor Layton, recommended that City Planning staff review the policy context, built-form and heritage value of the properties on Queen Street West between Bathurst Street and Roncesvalles Avenue.
Councillor Perks has heard from many community members that protection of the heritage values and character of Queen Street West remains a priority as we welcome change to this street. The study will involve public consultation to clarify what defines the street character and to develop a community vision for the future. Transit capacity and parking supply will also be reviewed.
City Planning staff will now begin to develop Terms of Reference for this study. Once available. notifications of community consultations will be distributed through mailouts, emails and media.
