Poverty Reduction Strategy: inviting residents for designing a Lived Experience Advisory Group

Dear Friends,

City Council is committed to reducing poverty in Toronto. Because of this, Toronto’s Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS) was passed unanimously by council in November 2015.

Staff from the Poverty Reduction Strategy Office are inviting residents who have lived experience with the conditions and impact of poverty to provide critical input and help decide on the design of a Lived Experience Advisory Group to support the PRS. This input will shape what LEAG should look like with regards to meetings, membership, communications, and supports.

Please join City Staff on Saturday, September 24th from 10:00 am – 3:30 pm at the Lawrence Heights Community Centre. The day will be interactive and exciting where participants will design a key part of the PRS Implementation and Accountability Structure. Food, transportation, and childcare will be available.

If you wish to register, please follow the Eventbrite link at: http://prs-leag.eventbrite.ca
