On Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6, there will be no subway service between St George and Keele stations as TTC completes the replacement of the fourth track switch near Ossington and Christie stations. Frequent replacement buses will operate between St George and Keele stations (see Transit service below). Regular subway service resumes on Monday, December 7 at 6 a.m.
All trains on Line 2 will turn back westbound at Keele Station and eastbound at St George Station.
During this closure, replacement buses will stop at all stations. For customers requiring a station with an elevator, Wheel-Trans buses will operate between St George and Jane stations on request, stopping at all stations. Customers can request the Wheel-Trans bus by speaking with a Supervisor at the station.
Subway fan operations
During major track work inside the subway tunnels, the TTC operates subway fans to help provide a flow of fresh air for the safety of crews working at track level. These fans will operate for the duration the crew is working in the tunnel, including overnight. The fans will generate unavoidable noise to street level through various vent shafts situated near each station. While the TTC recognizes disturbance may be caused to our neighbours, the operation of subway fans is essential to the safety of their crews who are improving infrastructure.
This is the fourth and final scheduled subway weekend closure of this section of subway this year.
