The City of Toronto is operating a ice monitoring program this winter at Grenadier Pond in High Park. All park users should abide by the rules of the program.
The monitoring period is Jan 2nd – to Feb 28th. Monitoring takes place daily, 7 days a week.
Based on the measurement/ice conditions, the appropriate coloured flag is changed by the contractor.
The skating conditions are communicated by the flag system, described on the sign. Red – indicating ice is not safe, Yellow – indicate skate at own risk.
Parks receives a daily report on the conditions and updates the information on the City Website: https://www.toronto.ca/explore-enjoy/recreation/skating-winter-sports/public-leisure-skating/skating-general-information/
Please check the ice conditions before you plan your trip to skate at Grenadier pond.
