Christmas Wreath-Making Workshops – For Adults
Saturday, December 1 at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 2 at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, December 8 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Start your Christmas preparations by creating your very own Christmas wreath using nature’s bounty. This 2 hour workshop is now a popular pre-Christmas get-together activity for groups of friends and families. Set in picturesque High Park, the house offers a cozy historic ambience for this seasonal craft. A tour of the decorated parts of the house and light refreshments are included. Pre-registration & pre-payment required. $30 plus tax.

Christmas Centrepiece Workshops – For Adults
Sunday, December 9 at 10 a.m.; Saturday, December 15 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, December 16 at 10 a.m.
Create your own Christmas Centrepiece using natural materials. This 2-hour workshop is a great pre-Christmas get-together activity for groups of friends and families. Set in picturesque High Park, the house offers a cosy historic ambience for this seasonal craft. A tour of the decorated parts of the house and light refreshments are included. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $32.50 plus tax.

Christmas Trimmings Workshops – For Kids 6 to 10 years old
Saturday, December 22 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Get a few errands done when you drop off the kids who’ll make a Christmas ornament to take home. A visit to the decorated parts of the house and light refreshments are included. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $20 plus tax.

Christmas Cookie Creation for Children – For Kids 8 to 12 years old
Sunday, December 23 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Drop off the children, who will have fun making unique and tasty treats for the holidays in this historic baking workshop that uses a Canadian gingerbread recipe from the 1830s. While their cookies bake, participants will tour the house and discover Victorian Christmas traditions and stories. Later, they will take home the Christmas cookies they’ve made. They might even want to save a few for when Saint Nick comes to visit! Pre-registration and pre-payment required. $22.50 plus tax (includes supplies and a dozen cookies).

Christmas in the Park
From Saturday, November 24 to January 6,
Tuesdays to Sundays, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Closed Mondays, Dec 25, 26 and Jan 1

Discover the magic of Christmas in the winter wonderland surroundings of High Park and enjoy a tour of Colborne Lodge, the picturesque home of the founders of High Park, which is decorated for a Victorian Christmas. You will discover festive traditions, decorations and foods enjoyed during the 19th-century in Toronto. Toast the season with a glass of hot mulled cider by the wood stove and nibble on special holiday treats. Holiday admission prices apply: Adults $7.08, Seniors $4.42, Youths $3.81, Children $4.42 (plus tax)

High Park Winter Camp January 2-4, 2013

If you are looking for something for your kids to do during the second week of the school holiday break before school resumes on January 7, we have just the thing for you and your kids! Colborne Lodge Museum will be hosting a High Park Winter Camp on the weekday mornings of January 2-4 from 9 to 12 pm. Children ages 6 to 10 can participate in a variety of fun and interactive indoor and outdoor activities centred on Colborne Lodge and High Park. These include exploring Colborne Lodge and its history, cooking using Victorian recipes, crafts, nature activities and games.

Participants can be registered for one to all three mornings. The cost is $17.50 plus tax for one morning session, $35 for two mornings or $52.50 for all three mornings. A mid-morning snack will be provided to participants. Enrolment is limited to only twelve participants, so book early to avoid disappointment.
