An Update on 1540-1550 Bloor Street West development application

The April 8, 2021 City Council Meeting will be reviewing a Staff Report titled 1540-1550 Bloor Street West – Zoning Amendment – Request for Direction for Local Planning Appeal Tribunal Hearing.

http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2021.CC31.10

The application was originally submitted in 2019 proposing a 25-storey mixed-use building with commercial uses on the ground floor and residential uses above at the N/W corner of Bloor and Dundas Sts West.

The application is currently under appeal at the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT).

In December 2020, City Council directed the City Solicitor, together with City Planning staff and other appropriate staff to attend the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) hearing to oppose the Zoning By-law Amendment at 1540-1550 Bloor Street West in its current form.

This Staff Report at Council is in response to a Revised Proposal submitted by the applicant in March 2021. The revised proposal includes increasing the height of the building from 25 to 27 stories, while decreasing the tower floorplates on upper floor, amongst other changes.

The Revised Proposal is available online at the City’s Application Information Centre.

The Staff Report that summaries changes to the proposal is available on p 4
