The purpose of the meeting is to continue to build community alignment on policy recommendations, neighbourhood engagement and advocacy to secure a strong Toronto poverty reduction strategy.
All welcome to attend and take action against poverty in Toronto!
The Agenda will include:
• An update on the City’s 2015 Poverty Reduction Strategy Process and Timelines
• Presentation and discussion of community-generated policy papers on jobs, housing, food, transit and childcare/community services (the papers will be circulated before the meeting)
• Report and feedback on key communication themes and messages for broader engagement and support
• A discussion of community engagement and plans to secure a strong and effective poverty reduction strategy (and 2016 city budget)
The City’s poverty reduction strategy will be released in June. Now is the time for individuals and groups from all sectors, backgrounds, neighbourhoods to join together and call for a bold and effective strategy.
The meeting is free. Refreshments will be provided. TTC tokens will be provided upon request. If you have child care needs please contact us by April 8.
