Buckthorn Busting Round 2 Updated Meeting Location

Posted on November 8, 2016

There has been a change of location to the initial meeting point for Buckthorn Busting Round 2. The main group will now meet near the washrooms at Parkside Drive and High Park Boulevard, while the Boulevard Beds group will meet in front of the Grenadier Restaurant.

Warm clothing and water are recommended, and be aware that seeds and burrs will stick to fleece.

November 13th, 2016, 10:30 am – 12:30 pm; repeats on November 27

Buckthorn is one of the worst invasives in High Park. Buckthorn removal is a popular activity for anyone who likes being outdoors and finds satisfaction in restoring the park’s ecology; a few hours of work make a real difference. For students, it is also a way to collect volunteer hours.

The final session, on November 27, will be followed by a potluck lunch.

Meet us in front of the Grenadier Restaurant at 10:30 am, and we will go together to the site. All tools will be provided.
