Tenant Action Meeting
Monday, June 13 6:30 PM
West Neighbourhood House
Stan Meek Community Hall
248 Ossington Avenue at Dundas
The Ontario government wants to make it easier for landlords to evict people. They want to make it more difficult for renters to fight evictions for late rent at the Landlord and Tenant Board. They also want to make it easier for landlords to evict people for how they live. This is about helping landlords get rid of working class and immigrant tenants so they can jack up rents and make more money.
Organized by Parkdale Community Legal Services & Kensington-Bellwoods Community Legal Services
For Renters in the South West of Toronto

Join the High Park Stewards in the Tablelands, our oldest restoration site within the park. We hope to plant over 1000 forbes, grasses and shrubs, so lots of hands are needed. You can easily see the results of our last four years of planting.
Meet us in front of the Grenadier Restaurant at 10:30 am, and we will go together to the site. All tools will be provided.
Shortly, every residential property owner in Toronto will be receiving a 2016 Property Assessment Notice from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) in the mail. The property assessment notice provides the current value assessment of a property as of January 1, 2016. The updated assessment values will be used by the City of Toronto to calculate municipal property taxes for the 2017-2020 tax years.
Property owners should check their Notice of Assessment upon receipt. Owners can confirm the information used to determine their property assessment and compare their assessment with others in their neighbourhood by visiting MPAC’s online portal, http://www.aboutmyproperty.ca.
More information on Property Assessment Notices is available at http://www.toronto.ca/propertyassessmentnotices.
