The Province of Ontario has issued the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA, 2014) replacing the Day Nurseries Act. This legislation outlines new regulations pertaining to licensed child care and camp programs for children and came into effect on August 31, 2015.
As a result of the legislation change, Community Recreation can no longer offer full or half-day camp programs for children under 4 years of age (48 months). Children must be 4 years (48 months) of age on the first day of camp. These changes affect our March Break 2016 programming which had been advertised prior to the legislation coming into effect.
Community Recreation is contacting the affected families to inform them of the changes and discuss other program options.
