Installation of Dowling Avenue temporary pedestrian bridge

Posted on December 11, 2015

My office was just notified of the following:

Installation of Dowling Avenue temporary pedestrian bridge

The temporary bridge at Dowling Avenue to accommodate pedestrian and cyclist traffic is being installed this weekend, weather permitting. The temporary bridge is expected to be open for use by January.

To accommodate tonight’s bridge installation work, the Jameson gate to the westbound Gardiner Expressway is closed until 6 a.m. tomorrow (December 12). The westbound Gardiner Expressway at Dowling Avenue will be reduced to two lanes from 9 p.m. tonight until tomorrow at 6 a.m.

The Dowling Avenue and the Dunn Avenue Bridges over the Metrolinx Rail Corridor were removed during the weekend of November 21 and 22.

The City has a web-based map to help residents and visitors make their travel plans, available at http://www.toronto.ca/roadrestrictions. Information about the City’s planned capital construction work, which also affects roads, is available at http://www.toronto.ca/inview
