The City of Toronto is developing a poverty reduction strategy.

8 Days of Dialogue (community conversations) are being hosted across the city from February 17-28.

The dialogue is about the lived experience of poverty. It is an opportunity for the City to hear from residents about things the City can do to help them secure better lives for themselves and their families, to better understand the impact of poverty in different communities, and to hear their ideas for creating and sharing greater wealth in Toronto.

The City of Toronto is encouraging residents with lived experience of poverty to contribute to this discussion.

The discussion will take place at:

Masaryk-Cowan Community Centre, 220 Cowan Avenue
Wednesday, February 18th, 2015
6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

• ASL, child minding and refreshments will be provided.

Friends Of Dundas – Watkinson Parkette Meeting – February 15th, 2 to 5 PM

Posted on February 10, 2015

A community meeting was held at the West Bend Community Association on the 21st of January. At this meeting, Parks staff and the Design Architect presented a design and sought-out the community’s input for the Dundas – Watkinson Parkette. The community members in attendance said that they would like a more naturalized and passive park with a few members seeking to keep some aspect of a play area for smaller children. That is now the direction of Parks’ staff.
Following the initial meeting, members of the community have chosen to start a Friends Of group for the Dundas – Watkinson Parkette.
The first Friends Of Watkinson’s Park meeting is Sunday February 15th from 2-5 PM.
