Dufferin Street Bridge Re-opened

Posted on April 11, 2014

I am pleased to inform you that the temporary Dufferin Street Bridge over the Metrolinx/GO Transit Rail Corridor will be re-opened to vehicular traffic today.

Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding while we completed this challenging project.

Pedestrian Lights:
The pedestrian bridge has been installed on the east side of the road. The east side was selected primarily because of the possible requirement from Toronto Water to support a temporary watermain.

In order to maintain safe access across Dufferin Street for pedestrians that are on, or need to access, the west side of the street (primarily the TTC loop), we have installed a pedestrian controlled crossing. The crossing is just south of the TTC loop. The lights will only turn red if a pedestrian has pressed the button to cross, or if a TTC bus is waiting to make a left turn exit for an excessively long time.
