125th Anniversary Celebration

“Celebrating Ourselves: Past, Present and Future”

May 2, 3 & 4, 2014

The students, parents, staff, and alumni of Parkdale Collegiate Institute (P.C.I.) are very excited to announce that they will be celebrating the 125th anniversary of Toronto’s second oldest high school, May 2 – May 4, 2014.

The weekend event, “Celebrating Ourselves: Past, Present and Future”, will see both a celebration of the achievements of the student population and a reunion of alumni.

The current building on Jameson Avenue is the third to serve the community since 1888; since its origin it has received students from all walks of life and from many parts of the world. P.C.I. takes great pride in having played an important role in helping its students become successful citizens of Toronto, Ontario and Canada. The diversity of its student community has helped enrich its educational experience and has made it uniquely placed for its international outlook.

Parkdale Collegiate Institute will open its doors Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday to host visitors for a stage show, displays, athletic events, and alumni-sponsored decade rooms. A Gala dinner and dance at the Liberty Grand on Saturday May 3, 2014 will provide an opportunity for alumni (students and staff) to gather and celebrate in a more formal setting. A BBQ on Saturday and a Brunch on Sunday will help sustain the visitors to the school!

Attached, please find two documents; an event outline of weekend celebration and key contacts for the event:

Thank you for your attention to this celebration – we hope that you will find the opportunity to highlight this event and to devote some space to a more focused examination of the P.C.I. community and its service to generations of Canadians – past and present.
