City of Toronto hosting public consultations on a proposed local appeal body for Committee of Adjustment decisions

The City of Toronto is holding public consultations to speak with Torontonians about the establishment and implementation of a local appeal body that would hear appeals of Committee of Adjustment decisions.

The Province of Ontario granted the City of Toronto the power to establish a local appeal body to hear appeals of Committee of Adjustment decisions on both minor variances and consent applications.

The Planning and Growth Management Committee recently asked the Chief Planner to initiate a public consultation process on the implementation of a local appeal body. A staff report on the results of the public consultation, including recommendations on implementation, is expected to be considered by the spring.

Each meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. A staff presentation will take place at 7 p.m. followed by a question-and-answer period and a facilitated discussion. Meeting dates and locations:
February 18, Etobicoke Civic Centre, meeting rooms 1 and 2, 399 The West Mall
February 24, York Civic Centre, council chamber, 2700 Eglinton Ave. W.
March 3, North York Civic Centre, council chamber, 5100 Yonge St.
March 5, Scarborough Civic Centre, rotunda,150 Borough Dr.
March 17, Metro Hall, rooms 308 and 309, 55 John St.

383 Sorauren Avenue update – February 2014

Friends, the Staff Report detailing the OMB settlement for 383 Sorauren Avenue will be presented at the Toronto and East York Community Council (TEYCC) Meeting on February 25th.
The report lays out the revisions to the height and density of the building structure, increase in visitor parking and Section 37 Community Benefits. The report is now available on-line at http://app.toronto.ca/tmmis/viewAgendaItemHistory.do?item=2014.TE30.12 .
TEYCC will hear this review and vote on this Staff Report on February 25, 2014 at 9:30 AM. I will be supporting the Staff report. You have an opportunity to depute at this meeting.
