11 Division Community Police Liaison Community Town Hall Meeting

On Tuesday the 13th of December 2011, the 11 Division Community Police Liaison Community (CPLC) will be hosting the annual 11 Division Town Hall Meeting. It will be held at Bishop Marrocco/Thomas Merton CSS (1515 Bloor Street West at Dundas Street West) and will commence at 7:00PM. The theme for this year’s meeting is youth safety and bullying. The meeting will feature interesting and entertaining speakers and a panel on bullying, as well as an opportunity to raise general issues. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Please feel welcome to join the Ward 13/14  Councillors for the 2012 Community Budget Meeting. Spaces are still available at the door for those who were unable to RSVP.

 

The meeting is: Tonight from 7pm-9pm at the Bishop Marrocco/Thomas Merton School (1515  Bloor St. West), in the 3rd Floor Staff Room.  Flyer

 

As mentioned previously, this event is an important opportunity to workshop with fellow residents and community leaders about how to protect and build the essential services which make Toronto great. We will be discussing issues and city services important to you and your community, as well as the impact the 2012 Budget will play in delivering and funding these services.

NEW General Interest/Adult/Seniors Programs Being Offered at West Toronto Collegiate

Starting in January, West Toronto Collegiate (330 Lansdowne Ave, just north of Dundas) is hosting Toronto District School Board Learn4Life programs and will have 35 daytime General Interest courses running in January:  e.g. Bridge, Computer Applications for Everyday Life, French, Italian, Mandarin,Sewing,  Cooking, Yoga, Zumba, Egyptian Belly Dancing, Painting, Digital Video, Interior Design, Sushi Making, to name a few. Parents/guardians and any adults 18 years and older are welcome to join us. Classes run during daytime hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and begin the week of January 9, 2012. This program offers you an opportunity to relax,get fit, create a work of art, or learn a new skill or language

Sorauren Park Town Square Fundraising Campaign

The public fundraising campaign for the new Sorauren Park Town Square project has begun.


“The Town Square will be become an important new asset for Sorauren Park and the community, featuring a bake oven, community sinks, mores trees and picnic space, a stage area for performances and gatherings, more bike parking and gardens.

The campaign is organized by the non-profit Wabash Building Society, in partnership with the City of Toronto and Parks, Forestry and Recreation. The goal is to raise $40,000 or approximately 10% of the total construction costs from the community.”
