Public info sessions – permit process for Sorauren Park Fieldhouse

Please be advised that two dates have been confirmed for public info sessions on the procedures for permitting space in the Fieldhouse. The dates are:

Thursday Jan. 15 at 7 pm

Saturday Jan. 17 at 2 pm

(The sessions will be held at the Fieldhouse located at 50 Wabash Avenue, and will be repeated twice for convenience). For more information please visit

Christmas Tree Collection

Please be advised that Christmas tree collection in select areas of your wards has not been this week. The areas in question are as follows. Dundas to the north, Bloor to the south, Jane to the west and Runnymede to the east. As well as Queen St. W. to the north, Springhurst to the south, Jameson to the West and Dufferin to the east.

Christmas tree collection will take place on designated collection days over the next three weeks.

Parkdale Earns a Spot in Walk and Bike for Life’s Trails for Active Transportation Pilot Project

On Thursday January 15th citizens, community leaders, and municipal staff of the City of Toronto will come together in a community-led planning workshop which will be facilitated by international active transportation expert and urban strategist, Gil Penalosa. Through the workshop process, participants will learn about successful active transportation planning from around the world and lay out priorities for action around walking, bicycling, and active mobility in their community. Anyone with an interest in walking, bicycling, and making Parkdale a great place is encouraged to come out to the workshop, which will run from 5:30pm to 8:30pm on Thursday January 15th, 2009 and be held at High Park Public Library, 228 Roncesvalles Ave .
