This is just a reminder to please join Mayor David Miller, the Wabash Building Society,
The Wabash Building Society will also be holding a community fundraising BBQ on site, with food provided by Mitzi’s Sister/Mitzi’s Café. Come out; enjoy some great food, great weather (!) and much more.
The preliminary report for the above noted site will be going before Toronto and East York Community Council on Tuesday May 6th, 2008 in Committee Room 1.
This report is an information report only. It will address issues that have been identified to date, and will recommend that a community meeting be set up with my office. I have included a link to the report below:

An update on the project – Councillor Giambrone and I will be meeting with the Dufferin Jog ad hoc design committee and city staff from Culture and Urban Design in the week of May 12th, 2008 to discuss moving forward on the Public Art component of the Dufferin Jog Elimination Project. The design committee has decided that they would like the Public Art money allocated to an art project inside the tunnel. At this meeting we will be narrowing down the scope of the project and discussing next steps with staff lead Clara Hargittay.
As you know Councillor Giambrone and I have hosted a number of design committee meetings. Many ideas were presented by residents/ business owners and/or stakeholders from Ward 14 and Ward 18, and I am pleased to say that City staff have responded to the community’s needs wherever there is an opportunity to do so.
I want to extend a big thank you to those of you who took time (and energy) out to participate in the committee and to share your insight and experience of living and working in the community. Your creativity inspired what I believe will be a unique and exciting art project in the heart of the Parkdale community!
I will provide an update on my website once the details of the RFP process are presented.
Please see the attached final notice for construction on Callender. The expected project start date is May 5th.
