“Yuletide in Muddy York” The First Annual Toronto Christmas Tree Ornament

The Parkdale Liberty Economic Development Corporation (PLEDC) is pleased to announce its First Annual Toronto Christmas Tree Ornament, a living icon of Toronto’s past and a symbol of hope for its future. Yuletide in York is the first in what will become an annual drive to raise funds for economic and employment initiatives in the Parkdale/Liberty communities in downtown Toronto. Every year, Toronto-based artists will compete to have their art commemorated in pewter to ornament Christmas trees all over the GTA. This year’s featured artist is Amita Sen Gupta, graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design, whose work has been exhibited all over Toronto and in Europe. Amita’s work focuses primarily on object and emotion; the idea that matter holds memory. Her depiction of a Victorian house pays homage to heritage, family, friends and the home.

“Yuletide in Muddy York” retails at $9.99 with all proceeds going to fund community initiatives in Parkdale. For a list of retailers where it is available, please visit www.parkdaleliberty.com
