If you’ve been at the intersection of Close Ave and King Street W, you may have noticed that there are orange dots on may of the trees. Here’s why:
City Staff had a site visit to the “Close Avenue Playground ” to inspect the above ground roots and trees in the playground area. As a result of the inspection it was discovered that the Ash trees north of the playground are infected by the Emerald Ash Bore (EAB). They have all been marked with orange paint to indicate that they are to be taken down in order to control the (EAB) infestation. After they are taken down and stumped they will be replaced with a new species of trees.
