I will be hosting our 2011 annual Ward 14 Community Environment Day on Saturday July 16th on Wabash Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The annual Community Environment Days educate the public on the importance of re-using, re-cycling and safe disposal of unwanted household items. Household hazardous waste and electronics will be accepted for recycling or proper disposal. Recycling containers will be available for purchase, exchange for broken ones, or free to new residents with proof of new residency and ID). There will be free compost for residents.
The City of Toronto requests that cars not be parked on Wabash Avenue from 11:00 p.m. on Friday, July 15th, to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16th, to ensure public safety and facilitate the movement of people attending the event as well as the safe pick up of blue boxes and drop-off of materials.
I hope you and your family will join me to celebrate Environment Day on Saturday, July 16th. Please spread the word to your neighbours.
