The City of Toronto needs local residents to serve on high-profile, challenging, and exciting boards of directors for City agencies and corporations. Being on a City board is a unique opportunity to contribute to your community, collaborate with others, and gain valuable skills and experience by helping to support a public service.
Board members provide oversight of their agency or corporation, bring a community perspective to board discussions, and help to reflect the needs and interests of Torontonians. Members of a board may include Members of Council, residents, business owners, and community leaders.
To serve on a City board, you need to be a resident of the City of Toronto and at least 18 years of age. Relatives of Members of Council and employees of the City and its agencies and corporations are generally not eligible for appointment to City boards.
