Adopt-a-Park-Tree Program and Young Urban Forest Leaders Reminder

Just a friendly reminder about this upcoming event!

Do you have an interest in helping tree thrive in your community? Join us to learn about our Young Urban Forest Leaders and how they could help you start an Adopt-a-Park-Tree program in your local park!

LEAF is working in partnership with the City of Toronto to provide assistance to 3 community groups interested in starting an Adopt-a-Park-Tree program in their local park (which engages volunteers to water and care for newly planted trees).

The program matches 4 young women (aged 18-24), trained and mentored by LEAF, with each of the 3 selected community groups. They spend the spring and summer helping the community kick start an Adopt-a-Park-Tree program. The goal is to have the community set up to continue the program on their own for years to come.

They are currently accepting applications from both community groups and youth until March 31st. Find program details and application links HERE.

Anyone interested is encouraged to join the public information session on Saturday March 18th at Metro Hall.
