I sit on City Council’s Special Committee on Governance. On February 21, we will be having our first meeting. I invite you to share you views about the impact of Council reduction and provide suggestions on governing Toronto with a smaller Council.

Enjoy City-run recreation programs and activities on Family Day

Enjoy Family Day on February 18 by taking advantage of City-run recreation programs and activities, or by visiting one of the City’s museums or historic sites.

In Ward 4, Masaryk-Cowan Community Recreation Centre will be hosting a Family Day: International Fun and Games program from 10am – 3pm. Outdoor Public Skating at High Park and Rennie Park will be open from 10am – 6pm.

Family Day includes a variety of recreational opportunities including: leisure swim, skating, ski and snowboard, arts, dance, sports and fitness as well as a sampling of locally programmed activities. All programs are offered in a drop-in format with no pre-registration required. A full listing of open facilities and activities can be found at

Annette Street Library Book Club – February 19

Come out and meet other book lovers and discuss the book of the month in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The next meeting is on Tuesday, February 19 from 7-8 pm at the Annette Street Library.

1660 Bloor Street West Development Community Meeting – February 20, 2019

A proposal has been put forward for a development at 1660 Bloor St W. The current plan is for a building matching the height of 1642 Bloor St W, at 38m. The developer is continuing to discuss this proposal with City Planners. To share their current plans with the community, the developer will be attending the West Bend Community Association meeting scheduled for next Wednesday, February 20th. The meeting begins at 7pm in the 2nd floor staff room at Indian Road Crescent Public School (285 Indian Rd Crescent). If you have any comments or concerns about this development, or just wish to learn more about what is happening in your neighbourhood, I encourage you to come out and take part.



Ontario Place Family Day Weekend FREE – February 15-18

This Family Day weekend, explore Ontario Place, Toronto’s winter oasis on the waterfront and create new memories to last a lifetime. In addition to their regular winter program and renowned Winter Light Exhibition, they are excited to host back-to-back DJ Skate Parties with DJ Fawn Big Canoe and DJ Shane Mackinnon, a YMCA Kids Winter Pop Up and a complimentary screening of A Beautiful Planet at the Cinesphere. For those artistically inclined, Art Tonite will host paint nights Saturday and Sunday and SPFX Kids will be onsite for a series of special effects classes and face painting for kids.  Plan your Family Day at Ontario Place, where there is something special for everyone!
