Amended Closures for the Labour Day Parade – September 3, 2018

Due to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) lockout at Exhibition Place, the parade will no longer finish at the CNE grounds but at Lamport Stadium.

The closure times are 7 am to 2:30 pm on September 3, 2018 for the formation area of the parade at the following locations:

a) University Av, both north and southbound lanes, full closure, from Dundas St West to Richmond St West

b) Queen St West, full closure, from Bay St to University Av

c) Centre St, full closure, from Armoury St to Dundas St West

d) Armoury St, full closure, from University Av to Chestnut St

e) York St, from Queen St West to Richmond St West (access to parking garage for Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts must be accessible)

The closure times for the dispersal area around Lamport Stadium are 7 am to 2:30 pm at the following locations:

a) Liberty St, full closure, from Dufferin St to Jefferson St

b) Jefferson Av, from King St West to Liberty St

Temporary 506 Carlton bus route looping on Howard Park Avenue and Ritchie Avenue

506 Carlton streetcar service will be restored with bus supplement. From September 2nd to October 6, 2018, there will be a temporary bus diversion due to streetcar tracks replacement at Dundas and Lansdowne. Details are provided below.

Reversal of one-way Traffic and Installation of Shared Lane Markings on Beaty Ave and Dowling Ave

As part of the City’s Ten-Year Cycling Network Plan, there will be changes on Beaty Avenue and Dowling Avenue in mid-late September. One-way traffic directions will be reversed on both streets. Permit parking on Beaty Avenue between Queen Street West and King Street West will be permanently on the west side. Shared lane markings (sharrows) will be installed on both streets to clearly identify where cyclists should ride in regular traffic lanes and to remind drivers to share the road.

Upcoming Bridge Maintenance Work in Your Area

To continue delivering and growing the GO train service, Metrolinx is refurbishing a series of bridges in Toronto, around the Humber Bay. These bridges are over 100 years old and require structural upgrades to improve and grow the service to get people moving, faster and easier.

The current schedule is as follows:

Humber River Bridge: September 8 – December 2

Colborne Lodge Drive: October 12 – 14

Parkside Drive: October 19 – 21

Ellis Avenue: October 26 – 28

Windermere Avenue: November 23 – 25

South Kingsway: November 30 – December 2
