As you know, Metrolinx has awarded a contract for the expansion of the Dufferin Street Bridge at Queen Street West and Dufferin Street The bridge expansion is required to accommodate the additional track needed for the Barrie corridor. As part of this work, they will be incorporating an extension of the Railpath multi-use trail, as well as other local amenities.
Metrolinx has now confirmed dates of lane reductions and closures as part of this work. They are as follows:
• Lane reduction – (one north lane and one south lane closed) – August 2 to August 19
• Full road closure – (no access through Dufferin Street at the bridge) – September 8 to October 8
Just a reminder there will be no lane reductions or road closures during the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) period from August 19 to September 5.
Metrolinx has worked with the City of Toronto in developing a traffic management plan to redirect pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles during the full closure of Dufferin Street West. Appropriate signage will be in place to redirect those using the road.
