Launched in 2012, StreetARToronto (StART), a program of the City’s Transportation Services Division, is an innovative, public-private partnership designed to develop, support, promote and increase awareness of street art and its role in adding beauty and character to neighbourhoods throughout the city. StART is an integral part of the City’s Graffiti Management Plan.

In 2014 StART funded the creation of over 20 high-quality murals and artwork on 8 Bell boxes, transformed 5 underpasses, beautified 36 traffic signal boxes through the ‘Outside the Box’ program, and collaborated with Metrolinx to install the first two of thirteen murals on walls along the new Union-Pearson line. This year’s grant deadline is Friday, March 13, 2015. Join StART at the upcoming information sessions to find out about 2015 programming and how to participate.
